Swiss Museum Pass – access to more than 490 Museums all over Switzerland

If you enjoy visiting museums and art galleries, or taking the children and visitors to them when they come over, you might want to consider investing in a Swiss Museum Pass. Not only does it give you access to over 490 museum across the whole of Switzerland – but it also comes in a variety of versions to suit different needs.

For example you can get the straight forward annual Adult pass for CHF 166 per year, or the Adult Plus for CHF 199 for 1 adult and up to 5 children. There is also the Family pass for CHF 288 which is designed for 2 adults and up to 5 children. The Museum Pass is valid for one year from the date of your choice. It is issued to a specific person and is non-transferable. You can purchase the passes at 1,800 post offices, the larger museums, tourist information offices and even online.

Examples of some of the museums in Zurich you can visit for free with the Swiss Museum Pass include the Tram Museum, the Landesmuseum, Museum Bellerive, Museum Rietberg and Mühlerama and many more.  The museums covered by the pass are listed here  (NB not every museum in the country is covered.) However, considering the price of normal museum entry, the pass shouldn’t take that many visits to pay for itself. You can even search here by museum name and by town too. It’s a great idea to have one of these handy for rainy day weekends and the long school Summer Holidays!
