Last weekend’s Ironman In Rapperswil unfortunately had to be halted after it had begun due to a massive landslide over part of the bike course. This was of course partly due to the rather prolonged wet spell we have been enduring but it was a major disappointment to all those taking part. It also came after the route had already been altered because of the bad weather conditions.
This is a photo of the landslide which caused the disruption:
However the Ironman in Zurich is all set to take place on 28th July – so here’s hoping the weather and road conditions will play ball. It will be the 17th time that the Ironman has taken place here and there will be 60 qualifying slots for the Ironman World Championship 2013 in Kailua-Kona in Hawai’i.
