Hopefully those of you who are in Zurich this weekend are enjoying the Züri Fäscht festivities. For those of you who are away on holiday here are some snapshots of what’s been going on. If you want to read more about the event itself please read our previous article.
As well as breath taking air shows, wake boarding events, tightrope walking, live concerts, folk dancing and food and drink of every type and from every country, the sky was filled on Friday and Saturday evening with beautiful firework displays.
The firework displays were accompanied by music and each show lasted for 30 minutes. There were also fairground rides and lots of entertainment.
Some even dressed up in costume for the event too.
And the merriment continued on until the wee hours turning Zurich into a real 24 hour city!
The monuments and landmarks were bathed in coloured lights.

For the first time ever the churches of St Peter and the Grossmunster were connected together by a high wire rope, and to great applause the 58 year old tightrope artist Alfons Bügler successfully walked across it on Saturday afternoon, 55 metres above the Limmat.
There were also sky divers to be seen flying above the Limmat and onto a pontoon on the lake.

And there were some wonderful wake boarding stunts too.
You can read more about Zueri Faescht here. Have fun and enjoy the last day of the festival on Sunday. The next one is in 2016! For other suggestions for the weekend and the next few weeks read our weekly update.
Here is a video of the fireworks from Saturday evening with musical accompaniment:
