*** Chocolate Workshop at Honold’s in Küsnacht ***
Luxury Swiss chocolate makers Honold hosted a Chocolate Valentine Workshop at their chocolate atelier in Küsnacht. Twenty enthusiastic chocolate lovers attended a fun evening full of chocolate tasting, making and creating.
After getting scrubbed down and kitted out in very fetching outfits (especially the hats!) it began with a tour of the chocolate-making premises and an introduction by Honold’s “Maitre Chocolatier” Herr Jud.
Very soon everyone was getting stuck into the chocolate-making and decoration and it was amazing to see what a creative bunch we had. It was also fascinating to see the variety of ideas and designs for the special (round) chocolate bars and the wonderful Valentine hearts.
We had lessons on how to pour chocolate correctly, and even on how to write with chocolate – the latter was very difficult indeed though some people were naturals and I’m sure had been practising before!
It was fun to see the great vats of molten chocolate and to help produce and decorate pralines and truffles and to taste them freshly made just as the chocolate was setting. Chocolate heaven! In addition to the making and decorating we also got to do some proper tasting where the choice on offer was overwhelming! All in all it was certainly a very chocolatey experience!
