May Weekend in Zurich – Wine, Dance, Fashion, Lakes and Tractors

The sunshine is back in Zurich again after a mixed weekend. It wasn’t really a “Bank Holiday Weekend” as the Bank Holiday was actually on the Thursday – but it certainly had that holiday feeling to it – and there was plenty going on both in and around Zurich!

Zurich Tanzt

In town there was Zürich Tanzt – which took place in various locations all over the city and enabled the general public to get involved with dancing all over town – in the street, in the park and in Zurich Haupbahnhof.  If you didn’t fancy actually dancing you could of course just spectate. Here are a couple of photos from one of the sessions at Zurich Hauptbahnhof on Sunday:

And here is a video of it some dancing at HB in action:

Besides dancing there was also Tsitaliya’s Bulgarian pop up fashion event which took place at Nuyu in Zurich with Bulgarian food and drink and photography and more. However, if you wandered out into the country side there was an “Old Tractor” event taking place on the Pfannenstiel.

There was even a crane to compete with the new “artwork” in Zurich:

Row upon row of tractors of different shapes and sizes were lined up in the sunshine and of course, as with every Swiss festival there was a tent where you could get your Bratwurst and Bürli along with a beer or glass of wine!

Talking of wine, the third day of the “Open Wine Cellars” took place on Sunday in selected vineyards around the Zürisee – read more about the event here and if you didn’t make it this time be sure to go along next year. Meanwhile at the Greifensee the lake was looking resplendent in the sunshine.

Don’t forget next Sunday, 11th May is Mother’s Day – so check our article tomorrow for some ideas on how to celebrate!
