Afro-Pfingsten Festival Winterthur

The temperatures are rising and the forecasters predict a scorching weekend. What could be better than visiting the Afro-Pfingsten Festival 2014 in Winterthur? The festival started on Tuesday and culminates on Sunday and it’s fun and it’s free! There’s reggae and  African music, African food and snacks, a world market, an African Market and plenty of things to do for all the family. There are a number of bands playing, including Kool and the Gang, Shaggy and Patrice and there will be a carnival feel in the air. There are special activities for children, a photo exhibition, a film festival and dance and handcraft workshops too.

Winterthur is only 20 minutes by train from Zurich Hauptbahnhof so easily accessible and it’s much better to let the train take the strain as it will be very busy so parking may be difficult.

On Sunday there is a “Fairtrade Brunch” from 11am – 1pm which costs CHF 39 per person and one franc per year for children. You can still book tickets for the brunch here.
