Enjoy the Bank Holiday on Monday 9th June and the fabulous sunny weather. If you’re looking for some ideas for the extended weekend here are a few to get you started:

AftroPfingsten is on in Winterthur. Lots of music, food, fun and dancing to be had as well as a Fairtrade Breakfast on Sunday morning See here for more information.

Circus Knie  – the Swiss National Circus is in Zurich at the Sechseläutenplatz and the pperformances end on Monday 9th June. For more information and to buy tickets please see here.

Photobastei – Photobastei’s photo exhibition features new photographic talent from all over Switzerland (why not consider exhibiting your own?) and the exhibition continues until August. See the details here.

Zurich Pride Festival 13-14th June –  coming up soon the annual Zurich Pride Festival. Conceived 20 years ago to fight against discrimination and prejudice, it will be on in the heart of Zurich featuring dance parties, live music and DJs. There will be plenty of food and refreshment too – for more information see here.

A Secret Garden Exhibition of Indian Paintings – The Museum Rietberg is exhibiting 60 of the most important Indian paintings from a private collection – A Secret Garden – “Ein Geheimer Garten”. They illustrate important traditions and paintings from all over India. The exhibition continues until 29th June. For more information please see here.

Basel Art – emergent, alternative and experimental show near Art Basel 2014,which will take place during the week of the fair.The Grass Grows is composed of 30 Italian and international artists giving space to young art, “grown asgrass in the last years” to oppose classical and synthetic presentations, which are typical of commercial fairs. Art and Painting in and around Zurich – Cuban artist Rolando Duartes has an art exhibition at the Triangel Restaurant in Zumikon during opening hours and it runs until 31st July. Rolando also has another exhibition of his work at the Kronen Galerie in Froschaugasse 3, 8001 Zurich from 4th – 8th June. For the location and contact details please see here.

Curious Courses – are running a special day filled with taster courses on a variety of different subjects. It promises to be an excellent event with some great speakers and a lot of fun. So mark your diaries for Saturday 21st June and hurry and get your ticket here. 

Sommernachtsball at the Station – don’t miss the annual Sommernachtsball at Zurich Hauptbahnhof on Satruday 21st June. It’s a fun evening with dancing for everyone from 8pm in the evening till 2am in the morning. What’s even better is that entrance is free. For more information see here.

Il Tavolo – is a special food festival organised in conjunction with the luxury hotels in Zurich. It runs from the 25th – 29th June with special events by top Zurich chefs and offers some fabulous food and fun. For details of the events and to book tickets please see here.

Festspiele Zürich – From June 13th  – July 13th the Festspiele Zürich takes place at a number of locations in Zurich (see here for the list) with all sorts of theatre and entertainment. For more information see here.
