What’s On In Zurich Mid September 2014 onwards

 

Knabenschiessen 13th – 15th September – the annual Zurich children’s shooting contest takes place this weekend. As well as the shooting ranges there is all the fun of the fair with stalls and rides and snacks and lots more. Swiss Circus Monti – are in Zurich performing their 30th anniversary show at Sechseläutenplatz until 21st September. A traditional Swiss circus, they will be enthralling audiences both young and old. More information here.

Tax Seminar for US Expats – Wednesday, 17th September from 18:30 to 21:30 at the American Women’s Club of Zurich,Schöntalstrasse 8, 8004 Zurich. Featuring what’s new for 2014 in the US Tax code, how it impacts expats, writing a last will & testament, retirement planning and lots more.

Epicure Gourmet Food Festival 18th – 21st September – the Restaurant at the Dolder Grand with 18 Gault-Millau points and 2 Michellin stars is Zurich’s highest rated restaurant and it will play host to this very special gourmet event. Please see here for more information.

Pumpkin Exhibition – from now until the beginning of November it’s pumpkin time at the Jucker Farm. For more information (in German) please see the Jucker Farm website.

The American Women’s Club is hosting it’s “Kickoff Luncheon” on Tuesday 23rd September at their Club House in Schöntalstrasse from 11.30 until 2.130. With prosecco, live music and an ice cream sundae bar and lots more. See here for full details.

Zurich Film Festival  – is back in town from 25th September to 5th October celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary. Amongst other stars coming to Zurich for the event, there will be Liam Neeson, Cate Blanchett and Antonio Banderas. There will be a kids’ film programme too this year and also an Indian film event. Freestyle.ch is in Zurich on 27th and 28th September. Enjoy the thrills and spills of the freestyle sports enacted right in the centre of Zurich.  See here for all the details.

Züspa – is on at the Messe in Oerlikon, Zurich from the 26th September  – 5th October. Lots of food and drink stalls, and everything you can think of to buy from furniture to clothes and lots more. They even have outdoor enclosures with farm animals! A great day out for all the family. For more information and to buy tickets please go to the website.

Slow up 28th September from 10am – 5pm- the Slow Up event from Meilen through to Rapperswil (and beyond) has to be one of our favourite activities. Hopefully they will have finished some more of the roadworks before it starts :) For more information please see here.

Fashion Hotel at the 25 Hours Hotel – on the 10th to 12th October the hotel 25 Hours will be hosting a weekend full of fashion with with fashion shows, pop-up-stores, bars DJs and lots of fun. For more information see here

Art International Zurich Exhibition – takes place at the Kongresshaus in Zurich on 17th, 18th and 19th October with a Vernissage on the evening of Thursday 16th. NewInZurich has 30 double tickets for all 3 days of the event including the vernissage, available for a prize draw. Grand Cinema Switzerland – exhibition at the Landesmuseum until 19th October all about Swiss films. It takes an in-depth look at  changes to Swiss values and the Swiss way of life as seen through Swiss films dating back to the 1920s. You can see the films in ten specially built museum cinemas. Find out what “Switzerland” and “being Swiss” really mean. For more information see here,

Museum Bellerive “Coming Into Fashion” – A Century of Fashion Photography at Condé Nast exhibition. If you love fashion and photography this is a great exhibition to visit. It has recently opened and runs until 19th October with video footage as well as iconic fashion photos. Well worth a visit. Open Tuesday – Sunday from 10am – 5pm (Thursday till 8pm). EWZ Stattkino in Zurich – is celebrating it’s 15th anniversary with a great line up of films including many English language films – all with original soundtrack!  The “best of” program is running from 13th – 26th October. If you’ve never been before check out what’s on offer as there’s much more than just films! Have fun and see here for more information.
