Congratulations to Roger Federer on his sixth victory in Sunday’s Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel! There were lots of Zurich tennis fans in evidence at the event which took place last week in Federer’s home town. It culminated in the playoff on Sunday afternoon when he beat Belgium’s David Goffin 6-2, 6-2 in the final to win the title. This latest victory increases Federer’s odds of overtaking Novak Djokovic to finish at the top of the world rankings for 2014. Not only has Federer (who is a 17-time Grand Slam champion) won all of his previous12 matches but he has also moved up closer to Djokovic in the ATP standings.

Roger Federer is the Brand Ambassador for Moët & Chandon champagne which was supporting Switzerland’s largest sporting event as the official champagne partner. Moët entertained a number of celebrities in the VIP Lounge including Roger Federer and his parents, his coach Severin Luthi, ski legend Peter Müller, Swiss track and field athletes Ellen & Lea Sprunge, model Patricia Schmid, singer Nubya and Ex-Mister Switzerland Renzo Blumenthal.
