There’s a great exhibition taking place at the Bächlihof Jucker Farm in Rapperswil-Jona which continues until the beginning of May. It’s an exhibition of sculptures made out of straw and hay and best of all it’s free!

For generations straw and hay have been used to feed animals and for bedding. At this outdoor exhibition you can learn about the importance of these cereals and immerse yourself in the world of straw and hay.

The Jucker Farm are well known for their sculptures made of pumpkins which they display at both their farm locations, but they have now branched out into straw artefacts too.

There are a variety of figures and sculptures, some of which are metres high. There there are also billboards set up giving you information and insights into these important grains and what they are used for.

If it’s bit chilly you can get hot drinks and even homemade lunches right on the farmyard. There are also hot soups as well as a variety of tarts and “Fläden” fresh from the wood stove.
