Every Spring a giant watch and jewellery fair takes place in Basel called Baselworld. It attracts the most renowned and distinguished companies from all over the world in the watch, jewellery and precious-stone industries. This year it takes place from 19th – 26th March at the Messe in Basel.
The importance of this exhibition for the Swiss watch market cannot be underestimated. It is here that the latest models are unveiled, the newest trends are on display and visitors from far and wide flock to see the latest time pieces.

However, its not just about watches as there are incredible displays of gems and jewellery too and of course, the latest “objets” are unveiled at this prestigious event. Over 1,500 exhibitors will be present and around 150,000 visitors are expected.

Transport: the event halls are easily accessible by public transport. From Basel SBB train station take tram number 2 or 1 and get off at “Messeplatz/Exhibition Square”and from “Basel Badischer Bahnhof” train station you need tram number 2 or 6 (2 mins ride).
