It’s March so Spring is surely on it’s way! All the shops are full of Easter bunnies and chocolate eggs – and this was the gorgeous sunset last night. Here are some events and ideas to keep you busy:

Visit the Tonhalle

check out the latest performances at the Tonhalle home to the oldest symphony orchestra in Switzerland founded in 1868. See the website.

Photo Vernissage and Sufi Rotations Event in Zurich on March 7th

visit ZeoT on March 7th from 19.00 to celebrate the opening of Sabua Gärtig’s photo exhibition, followed by live music from SSassa, a performance from the participants of Nicole McLaren’s whirling workshop AND an attempt to break a world record in Sufi rotations. For more information see here.

Visit the Paul Gauguin Exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler in Basel

on now until 18th June. Featuring a unique collection of 50 of Gauguin’s masterpieces this exhibition focuses on Gauguin’s time in Tahiti and the world famous painting he produced whilst there. See the website for details.

International Women’s Day 7th March – Miss Representation

a screening of the thought-provoking docu-film ‘Miss Representation’ at Impact Hub Zurich on 7th March from 6.30pm with film starting at 7.15pm.  It covers the portrayal of women in mainstream media and the role this places in framing women’s position in society. Health and Safety Workshop Day 14th March

Health & Safety Day March 14th. Luitgard Holzleg from Healthy And Safe Away From Home​ and Judit Józsa from Familysafety​ have organized this event about health, energy, nutrition and safety and Stefan Labas from Labas Results – Personal Training & Coaching in Rüschlikon​ will teach a self defence course. The AWC Workshop Week kicks off 11th – 18th March

learn a new skill by attending the AWC Workshop week which stats on 11th March. There are classes as diverse as make up and beauty to cooking classes in Kenyan – Indian food – and all at the AWC Zurich. For more information see here.

Pop Up Cinema

for a limited time there is a Pop-up Cinema in Zurich showing classic movies, cult movies and favourite films. On 11th March why not combine film viewing with wine tasting and on 18th March you can watch Chocolat and eat a Chocolate inspired menu after. For more details see website (in German).

Arsenic and Old Lace play in English in Zurich on 19th, 20th, 21st & 22nd March

the Blueprint Masquerades from the English Drama Department of the University of Zurich are performing Arsenic & Old Lace (in English) on March 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd. Performances are at 8pm except for Sunday when it begins at 7pm. Admission prices: Adults CHF 18 Students CHF 15. Tickets can be reserved at blueprintmasquerades@gmail.com. Zurich Moves! 13th – 20th March

is a festival showcasing contemporary dance, performance art and dance films in Zurich. This year is it addressing the topics of identity, gender and sexuality and what limits there are. The 31st International Country Music Festival in Zurich 30th January – 22nd March

still playing! This extensive country music festival is on in Albisgüetli until March 22nd. There are lots of acts to choose from. See here for more information.
