Bank Holiday Friday 1st May

don’t forget that most shops will be shut on Friday 1st May although Ikea Spreitenbach is open that day.

Girard-Perregaux Watches at the Espace Connaisseur, Les Ambassadeurs till 30th April

Girard-Perregaux have an exhibition of special timepieces at the Espace Connaisseur in the Les Ambassadeurs Boutique in Bahnhofstrasse 64, 8001 Zürich until 30th April. A special treat for lovers of fine watch making and passionate collectors, you will be able to look at unique timepieces, as well as a variety of movements, calibres and complications.  Open Monday – Friday: 9:30am – 7pm and Saturday 9:30am – 5pm.

Mercedes Benz Energy Fashion Night Saturday 2nd May

this fashion extravaganza takes place in Zurich at the Hallenstadion on 2nd May. For more information (in German) see here.

The Open Cellar Days in German Speaking Switzerland Offene Weinkeller

if you love wine mark your diary for the Open Cellar wine tasting days at the independent wine producers in the German speaking region of Switzerland on 1st, 2nd and 3rd May. As well as wine tasting there is food and in entertainment in many vineyards too. For more information see here.

Dolder Classics 10th May

why not check out the classic cars (or “old-timers” as they’re known in Switzerland!) at the Dolder ice rink in Zurich. The next diary date is 10th May and they’re open from 9am – 5pm. Zurich Comedy Club Present Twelve Angry Jurors 12th May – 20th May

Rodriguez Searching for Sugar Man in Zurich on 13th May

the legendary singer Rodriguez will be performing an additional concert at the Kongresshaus in Zurich on 13th May (12th May is now sold-out). For more information and to book tickets see here.

Visit the Paul Gauguin Exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler in Basel

on now until 18th June. Featuring a unique collection of 50 of Gauguin’s masterpieces this exhibition focuses on Gauguin’s time in Tahiti and the world famous painting he produced whilst there. See the website for details.

Il Tavolo Food Festival in Zurich 24th – 28th June

Love great food? Then this is a festival for you! Top chefs including those from the Baur Au Lac, the Park Hyatt, the Storchen, the Dolder Grand and the Widder Hotel pit their wits to create special menus for Il Tavolo events which will be taking place all over Zurich  from 24th – 28th June. As well as menus at the featured hotels there will be a “Kitchenparty at Gate Gourmet”, and “Il Mercato” Lunch and Dinner menus and a Family Brunch at the Engros Market.
