Opening Night Il Tavolo
Gate Gourmet Zurich Airport
Wednesday evening marked the beginning of the Il Tavolo Food Festival at the extensive Gate Gourmet kitchens at Zurich Airport.
Over 500 people attended this evening and amongst them chefs from the top 5 star hotels in Zurich. There are further Il Tavolo events running all week – so if you missed this one you’ve still got time to book into one of the other events this week if you’re quick. Further details at the bottom of this article.
The wine and champagne flowed as each of the cooking stations produced their particular works of culinary art.

On the food front there was everything you could wish for.
There were savoury dishes, sweet dishes, vegetarian dishes, Thai dishes and even a whole station dedicated to chocolate (well this is Switzerland after all!).

Over the course of the evening we caught up with many of the chefs who were happy to chat and explain the dishes they had prepared.

We also met up with former skier and model Marjam Jaeger and ex Mr Schweiz Rafael Beutl as we sampled the gastronomic delicacies. It was a great evening with wonderful food and wine.
