Free Concerts at the Bäckeranlage from 8th July – 3rd September

every Summer Stadt Zurich organises free concerts in the Bäckeranlage park in Zurich on Wednesday evenings. The best thing is that they are totally FREE! Bob Spring and The Calling Sirens is on Wednesday 8th July. To view the list of concerts see here.

Basel Tattoo 17th – 25th July

from the 17th – 25th July the Basel Tattoo will be taking place in Basel. Celebrating its 10th anniversary with a spectacular jubilee performance. There will be lots of glitz and glamour and spectacular show bands performing in front of around 8,000 spectators. If you’d like to get tickets see here.

Jucker Farm Fruit Picking

Pick your own fruits and berries this Summer. It’s fun and children love it and Jucker Farm has a great selection. See here for more information. Don’t miss their “Blueberry Day” on 19th July with lots of special offers.

Festspiele Zurich: Money Power Love 12th June – 12th July

Money, Power, Love or “Geld, Macht, Liebe” in German is the theme of this yea’s ” Festspiele Zurich”. Focusing on the work of William Shakespeare it covers a range of cultural events – including theatre, opera, music, exhibitions and more. For further details please see the website.

Aufsehen Summer Festival in Zurich 25th June – 6th September

check out all the pieces of art hanging up around Zurich this Summer as part of the Aufsehen Summer Festival. There are be about 30 different projects, including photo shoots, art openings and more. Cinema and Film in Zurich

Summer in Zurich is a great time for movie fans as there are a number of really cool locations to sit back and enjoy a good film.  See below for some suggestions:

Filmfluss – Summer Open Air Cinema at Badi Unterer Letten

watch films by the water! From the 8th – 26th July the Open Air Cinema takes place at the Badi Unterer Letten at Wasserwerkstr. 131,  8037 Zürich. There are films in English as part of the program but do check the website first! Doors open at 8.30pm and the films start at around 9.30pm. Arrive early to avoid disappointment. Salt Openair Cinema

Salt Openair Cinema (formerly Orange) 

more films by the water, this time at the Zurichhorn by the lake from 16th July – 16th August. You can buy tickets online and at specific retail outlets from 3rd July.  See here for details and for program.

XenixOpenair until 15th August

is showing some great films including Reservoir Dogs by Tarantino and The Virgin Suicides by Coppola. More information here (in German).

Films at the Röntgenplatz Friday (10th & 17th) & Saturday (11th & 18th)
