Where To Find Fabulous Cakes and Pastries in Zurich
After having a delicious healthy meal in one of Daniela’s recommended “Top 7 Healthy Restaurants in Zürich”, you might just fancy a nice dessert or cake afterwards. Daniela has selected some great spots in Zurich that offer a delicious choice of cakes and desserts. At most of them you can always purchase a cake to take home too.
Cake from Confiserie Honold
Confiserie Honold have branches in the centre of Zurich at Rennweg 53 as well as in Zürichberg, Stadelhofen Railway station, Küsnacht and Herrliberg. As well as chocolates to die for, they also have fabulous cakes and tarts, homemade Birchermuesli and in Summer wonderful ice creams too. Visit Honold’s website here.
Cupcake Affair, located in Spitalgasse, just off Hirschenplatz in the Niederdorf offers the most delicious cupcakes which come in two sizes – regular and mini. They are all baked freshly every day and the sponge is delicate and light and the icing is creamy and fresh and not overpowering in quantity! Cupcake Affair’s website.
Babu’s is a great place for a juice, a smoothie or a fabulous piece of cake. You can relax over a coffee and in their cafe and indulge or you can take away. They also do acai fruit smoothie bowls. Located in Löwenstrasse a stone’s throw from Bahnhofstrasse. Visit the website here.
Cafe Schober 1842 is renowned for being one of the prettiest cafés in Zurich and they have a pretty wonderful selection of freshly made cakes, strudels and patisserie to match. Confiserie Sprüngli is of course best known for its Luxembürgli macarons and chocolate, but it also has a great selection of cakes and pastries. Take a seat at the Paradelplatz branch and enjoy “Kafee und Kuchen” in style. Confiserie Sprungli website.
Café Felix is an elegant cafe in Bellevue which is open 7 days a week. With the exuberant flower arrangements, delicious Teuscher truffles (you must try the champagne one) and lovely selection of cakes it’s a great place to have a coffee (or hot chocolate!) and watch the world go by. Haus Hiltl offer vegan and lactose-free cakes and brownies. They are delicious and small and can be taken away. There is also the delicatessen shop offering tasty snacks to take away. Tibits is a vegetarian and vegan self-service restaurant which also offers delicious cakes (the cheese cake is awesome!), brownies and deserts to eat there or take away. The Dolder Grand offers a wonderful takeaway service and some of the highlights have got to be their amazing cakes and patisseries.
