We’ve had some great weather in Zurich recently and some stunning sunsets so fingers crossed the sunshine continues. In any case there’s plenty on to keep you busy in Zurich come rain or shine. See below for ideas.

Exhibition About the Dolder Waldhaus Hotel 1st – 30th September

if you’re ever visited or stayed at the Dolder Waldhaus Hotel and Restaurant in Zurich you might be feeling a little nostalgic when you discover that the hotel is due to be knocked down and replaced with a brand new modern reincarnation of the hotel. However, you have a month to visit an exhibition of over 100 pieces of Dolder Waldhaus memorabilia on site from 1st – 30th September from 8am – 9pm daily. For more details see here.

Live Life Exhibition 2nd & 3rd September

an exhibition with workshops, talks, yoga tasters and lots of ideas about healthy food and eating with take place at the Maag Halle in Zurich. It’s the first time for this exhibition – so find out more here.

Discover Wine at Frau Gerold’s Wine Festival 2nd – 4th September

over 100 wines including numerous Swiss wines as well as organic wines, sake-tasting, a champagne bar and all sorts of mini-seminars at Frau Gerold’s Garten, Geroldstrasse 23, 8005 Zurich this weekend.

Tag Des Kinos Switzerland – watch a movie for CHF 5!!

on Sunday 4th September it’s “Tag des Kinos” and you can watch a movie at the cinema for just 5 francs! Check out the info here  – but be quick as there is bound to be a lot of interest!

Theater Spektakel Zurich Ends 4th September

one of the most notable cultural events in Europe is taking place right here in Zurich until 4th September. Over 20 performing arts groups will be taking the stage at Landiwiese, creating some incredible shows. There are lots of impromptu acts to see too and lots of food and drink options to keep you fed and watered.  A great destination to visit with family or friends.  See here for more information.

2nd September the Viadukt’s 6th Birthday Party and British Cheese Centre’s Scottish Theme

pop along to the Viaduct on 2nd September to help celebrate their 6th birthday and while you’re at it go and visit Mike at the British Cheese Centre where he will have Scottish beer from Brewdog on tap, Hot Toddies, Whisky Pimms, lots of Scottish cheese and even Whisky Rarebit Bagels! What’s more he’s offering a free beer to enyone in a kilt! See here for more information.

Rundfunk.fm at the Landesmuseum Daily till 3rd September

the annual radio-fest Rundfunk.fm started in Zurich on Friday 5th and it will be broadcasting daily at the Landesmuseum from 5 pm to midnight with lots of music and food, drink and fun. Entry is FREE! To find out more visit the Rundfunk website here.

Lange Nacht der Museen Zurich

Die Lange Nacht der Museen – Zurich Museums Open Night 3rd September

every year Zurich Museums open their doors late into the night for a special event called the Long Night of the Museums. For a fixed price you can visit as many as you can fit in and have a lot of fun too. See here for details and prices.

Pink Ribbon Charity Walk for Breast cancer 4th September

men, women and children are all welcome to join in this charity walk for breast cancer. Do be sure to register your place in advance. If you can’t make the walk why not attend the Pink Ribbon Gala Dinner on 30th September. Find out more about both events here.

Couleurs Désert at the Bellerive Museum – LAST Exhibition!

the beautiful Bellerive Museum in Zurich is sadly closing in 2017 and the last exhibition is one about the Berber carpets made in Morocco by the talented craftswomen who live there. The exhibition begins on 2nd September and ends on 29th January. Open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm. More information here.
