The past week in Zurich has been busy and exciting with visits from stars of the screen and directors and film producers. Here are a few more photos we’ve captured along the way as well as the results of the Zurich Film Festival award winners for 2016.

The Zurich Film Festival Awards

The Awards ceremony took place at the Opera House on Saturday 1st October and the winners of the  12th Zurich Film Festival 2016 were announced as follows:

Zurich Film festival Awards 2016
Golden Eye for Best International Feature Film went to: HYMYILEVÄ MIES / THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI by Juho Kuosmanen (Finland, Germany, Sweden).

 Special Mentions for:
– PERSONAL AFFAIRS / OMOR SHAKHSIYA by Maha Haj (Israel)
– DOUA LOZURI / TWO LOTTERY TICKETS by Paul Negoescu (Romania)
– LADY MACBETH by William Oldroyd (Great Britain)

Best International Documentary Film Golden Eye Awards went to:
MADAME B. HISTOIRE D’UNE NORD-CORÉENNE / MRS. B., A NORTH KOREAN WOMAN by Jero Yun (France, South Korea).

Special Mentions for:
– WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE by Heidi Brandenburg and Mathew Orzel (Peru, USA, Great Britain)
– A FAMILY AFFAIR by Tom Fassaert (Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark)

Golden Eye for Best Film in the Focus: Switzerland, Germany, Austria’ competition went to: STILLE RESERVEN / HIDDEN RESERVES by Valentin Hitz (Austria, Germany, Switzerland).

Special Mention went to:
– FUTURE BABY by Maria Arlamovsky (Austria)

The Emerging Swiss Talent Award for the Best Swiss Film went to: EUROPE, SHE LOVES by Jan Gassmann (Switzerland, Germany).

The Swiss Association of Film Journalists (SVFJ) Best Debut Feature Film in the Competition Section award went to: LADY MACBETH by William Oldroyd (Great Britain).

Audience Awards went to: WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE by Heidi Brandenburg and Mathew Orzel (Peru, USA, Great Britain).

Kids Jury Award for Best Children’s Film went to: MA VIE DE COURGETTE / MY LIFE AS A COURGETTE von Claude Barras (Switzerland, France).

Audience Award for Best Children’s Film went to: CODE M. / GEHEIMCODE M. by Dennis Bots (Netherlands).

Best Treatment Award went to: Anna Schwingenschuh for  COLD TURKEY FOR EMERGENCIES project (Switzerland).
