What’s On in Zurich Mid to Late January 2017

The Rhythm of the Dance 19th & 20th January
an homage to the history of Ireland and Irish dancing, Rhythm Of The Dance promises to be a thrilling live show, complete with a traditional Irish live band and three young Irish Tenors. It takes place on 19th January at the Theater Spirgarten in Zurich and 20th January in Winterthur. Find out more and book tickets here.

the Vernissage of Dawna Mueller’s impressive photographic exhibition takes place from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 21st January at Gallery StileVivo, Kugelgasse 14, 8708 Männerdorf and Dawna will be present. The exhibition continues until 24th March. For more information see here.

Miss Earth Schweiz Finals in Lausanne 28th January
a beauty contest with a commitment to the environment, to sustainability and to doing good – the Miss Earth Schweiz finals take place in Lausanne on 28th January, but we met the contestants on the farm at Bauer Fritz to find out more. See our article and photos here.

Couleurs Désert at the Bellerive Museum till 29th January!
the beautiful Bellerive Museum in Zurich is sadly closing in 2017 and the last exhibition is one about the Berber carpets made in Morocco by the talented craftswomen who live there. The exhibition is on now and ends on 29th January. Open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm. More information here.
Mary Poppins Coming to Zurich in English

Chinese and Swiss Contemporary Art Exhibition at Helmhaus until 5th February

Chocolate, Wine, Port and Whisky Tasting Evening Thursday 9th February
we have another Chocolate, Wine and Port tasting event coming up on Thursday 9th February from 7pm – 9pm and this time we have whisky added to the mix too! It promises to be a fun and educational evening where you will be learning about chocolate from Max Chocolatier and all three drinks from Magnus Vinum and tasting lots of them too! Art On Ice is one of the most popular entertainment shows in Zurich attracting young and old alike. we visited the newly opened Raclette Factory and had a feast of various types of raclette. Find out more about this novel concept which also offers take-away fondue here.
The Hotel Ambassador Fondue in an Igloo on the Rooftop
there is a Pop Up Fondue Igloo on the roof terrace of the Hotel Ambassador at Opera for a limited time only. It’s just for 4 to 6 people and we tried it out and it is amazing fun! Exhibition “Flucht” at the Landesmuseum
