TAG Heuer Connecting Swiss Watches & History
Rütli Meadow is famous for being the “birthplace of Switzerland”. It’s the historic place where in 1291 the three original cantons of Uri, Schwyz and Unterwalden united and swore allegiance thus founding the beginning of the “Confederation Helvetica”. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland situated directly on the Vierwaldstättersee and surrounded by the wonderful mountainous landscape.
Directly across the lake from the Rütli Meadow lies Brunnen, Jean-Claude Biver CEO of TAG Heuer held a press conference along with partners Josh Walden, Senior Vice President of Intel and David Singleton, Google’s Vice President of Android Engineering to celebrate the launch of a new Swiss watch – the TAG Heuer Modular 45 Smartwatch.
The event was steeped in Swiss symbolism and as well as unveiling the latest “Swiss made” Tag Heuer watch, there were alphorns playing, cow bells ringing and even Mr Biver’s very own farmhouse cheese to taste!
Of course the star of the show was the latest watch which is both very innovative but at the same time very simple and extremely practical – the Tag Heuer Modular 45.
The New Luxury Tag Heuer Modular 45 Watch
The new TAG Heuer modular smartwatch is modular in more ways than one. There is a huge selection of materials, colours and combinations for straps, bracelets and buckles enabling you to design a luxury watch which you customise to your individual requirements or wishes.
Digital or Analogue
However, even more interesting is the option which quite simply allows you to choose whether to wear a TAG Heuer smartwatch or a classic TAG Heuer watch. You can choose to be digital or analogue. So some days you could go for the smartwatch and others you could choose a mechanical haute horlogerie module – 3 hands or COSC-certified chronograph with tourbillon – and each watch fits into the same customisable watch strap.
Swiss Made, Innovative and Customisable
It’s a groundbreaking Swiss watch which has been designed, developed and assembled by TAG Heuer in Switzerland. It is truly “Swiss Made” and that is something about which Jean-Claude Biver is extremely proud.
Luxury and Practicality
This Swiss luxury smartwatch has been developed together with Intel and not only is it waterproof up to 50 meters, it also boasts GPS and has an NFC sensor to enable payments with a high-resolution AMOLED screen, customizable TAG Heuer dials and it is made exclusively of high quality materials such as titanium, ceramics and rose gold.
Charity Auction for Make-A-Wish Foundation
From 14th to 29th March, 2017 Jean-Claude Biver is running an auction on eBay for the one thousandth Tourbillon movement with the COSC certificate (in a presentation box, which also includes the new TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 watch) and all proceeds will go to the “Make-A-Wish Foundation”, helping fulfill the wishes of seriously ill children.
