Relax and Rejuvenate at La Réserve Genève
La Réserve Genève is a luxury hotel situated in the leafy outskirts of Geneva close to the lake, just three miles from the city and conveniently close to the airport and the motorway. Once you step through the hotel doors you are given a tremendous welcome and made to feel totally at ease by the very friendly, helpful yet discreet reception staff.
Before you know it your car is parked, your luggage whisked away and you’re enjoying the splendour of the wonderful rooms. Attention to detail is the byword here and everything is done to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. It’s the perfect place to go for a birthday, a celebration or simply a fabulous treat for body and soul!
Beautiful Colourful Rooms and Suites
The hotel boasts a total of 73 rooms and 29 suites, all elegantly furnished with interior design inspiration from Jacques Garcia. Our suite had beautiful views overlooking the expanisve, immaculately groomed gardens and across to the lake.
The lounge area of the suite
The bedroom was a good size with a great bathroom and a stunning lounge area with plenty of sockets and a writing desk. There was a beautiful cocoon of colour in the the lounge, whilst the bedroom was decorated in gentler, tranquil tones. Throughout the hotel there was great wifi.
An especially warm welcome was afforded by the lavish “welcome treats” – beautiful macaroons and petits fours as well as a bottle of Michel Reybier champagne from the hotel owner’s own vineyard.
Michelin Starred Chinese Restaurant Tsé Fung
Only Chinese Restaurant in Switzerland with a Michelin Star
The hotel has five restaurants catering for all tastes, including the Chinese Restaurant Tsé Fung, which is the only Chinese restaurant in the whole of Switzerland to be awarded a Michelin star.
The menu we selected was a variation on the Diamond Menu. From the first Dim Sum “amuse bouche” to the finale, a mango soup dessert, it was all totally delicious and beautifully presented with wonderfully attentive service.
Each course was superb and my favourite, the peking duck, was outstanding. It was lovely to sit outside at a table on the terrace overlooking the gardens, and as soon as it became a little chillier, the waiter brought over blankets to keep us warm. Certainly a meal to remember – our dinner at Tsé Fung was one of the many highlights of the weekend.
The Summer Lodge
Lunch at the Sumer Lodge
In addition to the Tsé Fung, there is the French restauarnt, Le Loti, showcasing Virginie Basselot’s (2015 winner of the Meilleur Ouvrier de France) gastronomic genius, the Spa Restaurant the Café Lauren, offering delicious, light healthy dishes and the garden restaurant, the Summer Lodge, where we had lunch on the last day.
As well as a great choice of fresh salads and crispy pizza, they also served fresh, beautifully cooked fish – ours was skilfully de-boned in front of us in record time by our attentive waitress.
The Hotel Motor Launch
If you fancy a wander down to the lake, the hotel has private pedestrian tunnel which takes you directly to the water’s edge where their motor launch is moored.
The boat is a fabulous amenity which is available free of charge to take guests to the centre of Geneva and back at intervals throughout the day. We took an afternoon trip to the city and enjoyed it immensely.
The Rejuvenating Spa
The Spa Restaurant Café Lauren
Back at the hotel, another big draw is the Nescens Spa, one of the top spas in Switzerland, if not Europe. Complete with 17 treatment rooms, a gorgeous indoor swimming pool, a gym, hair salon, and the Café Lauren, it even boasts childcare facilities too!
With a lovely calming décor and flowing curtains it’s designed to help you unwind. The individual changing cabins are equipped with a shower, basin and everything you need – you don’t need coins to operate the lockers as they have an electronic keypad and the ambiance is tranquil and calming.
Relaxing Nescens Facial
I was invited to try out a treatment and had the Nescens signature facial which was heavenly. After the glycoic peel and exfoiataion my face was massaged and then I had a hand and arm massage as part of the treatment. It was all expertly executed by my therapist Matcha and so relaxing that I even fell asleep! I left the spa with my face glowing and feeling totally rejuvenated.
There’s a full menu of spa treatments from both Nescens and La Prairie ranges, personal nutrition advice, and an in-house osteopath at the spa too.
For the sporty, other activities include an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts and of course the lovely grounds are definitely worth exploring too.
So if you’re feeling stressed out, in need of a break, looking to celebrate a special event or simply want to be totally spoiled – this is just the place to go! We loved our stay here and enjoyed our opportunity to relax and rejuvenate and look forward to returning.
