Delicious Chocolate Events at
Confiserie Honold Zurich
Back in 1905, Fritz Honold opened the first branch of Confiserie Honold in Rennweg 53, Zurich with just 10 employees. The family firm is now in its fourth generation and under the leadership of Cristina de Peregaux has five branches, the original branch with tea rooms in Rennweg, another in Herrliberg, one in Zurichberg, the atelier in Küsnacht, and the most recent in Enge.
Truffles and Pralinés
Master Chocolatier Ivo Jud creates Honold’s amazing truffles and pralinés and if you haven’t tried them yet, what are you waiting for? The pralinés pictured below are called Lottis Best (in honour of Cristina’s Aunt Lotti who, until her retirement, was the previous owner of Honold) and they consist of delicious flakes of nougat, with tonka beans and a pinch of fleur de sel, all enveloped in Criollo de Venezuela and milk chocolate, topped off with edible gold dust.
Honold also sells wonderful cakes baked to their exclusive recipes as well as a whole host of bread and savoury items like salads, tarts, quiches and sandwiches too.
Fresh and Seasonal With Top Quality Ingredients
Honold prides itself in producing top quality devious foods using fresh local and seasonal ingredients wherever possible. You will find that just as the seasons change, so too does their range. For example, right now in early Autumn the branches are full of the sweet Vermicelli tarts and cakes (they are made with piped sweet chestnut) and they are a typical Swiss Autumn delicacy.
If you haven’t tried one yet, you really must! Whilst you’re at it, don’t forget to taste some of their splendid chocolates too.
