SmartWatcher – the precious Gift of Safety and Security
Last year we wrote about an App called SmartWatcher which was developed by a Swiss company in Zurich. It works on Smart watches enabling you to help keep an eye on your loved ones who might be vulnerable – both those who are old and perhaps frail, but also the young or vulnerable, or those who maybe for medical reasons, need a little extra attention.
SmartWatcher Watches Built In Technology
Roll on a year and the clever people at SmartWatcher have gone one step further and created their own beautifully designed watches, which look and feel just like normal time pieces but which are equipped with the most advanced technology. The new watch is a normal watch, but in addition it can summon help immediately in the event of an emergency.
It allows you to have peace of mind knowing that those you love can be protected, whilst at the same time allowing them independence and security in their own lives.

Security and Independence

Helping seniors stay safe, not only prolongs their independence, it also gives them a valuable sense of security and empowerment — whether they’re living at home or in an assisted environment.”
How The SmartWatcher Works
The PEARL watch pairs with the App and you can then assign up to 12 relatives or friends as “Watchers”. This means that in the event of danger or an accident or fall for example, the wearer of the SmartWatcher simply presses a button which activates the app and sends an alert to all the Watchers registered. They in turn get a notification opening up the app, with a map showing the position of the person who has called. They can then can decide to call the person or the emergency services.
SmartWatcher PEARL
The watches come in a variety of designs and they look like a watch and work like a watch, not like a medical aid.
The slim analogue PEARL watch has a Swiss Ronda quartz movement and is decorated with Swarovski stones. It is equipped with bluetooth and can pair with both Android and Apple mobile phones via the free Smartchwatcher App.
The watch is also waterproof and has a medical stainless steel case and the model comes in white and red.
SmartWatcher SENSE and CHRONO
The Smartwatcher SENSE
The SENSE and CHRONO models offer a more independent option as they are equipped with a built-in Swisscom SIM card, an integrated microphone and a loud-speaker allowing two way voice communication, without the necessity of using the App.
SENSE is very light and modern and CHRONO is a little larger with a battery which lasts up to four days and is IP67 water-resistant – which means that you can wear it whilst having a bath or shower.

Services
There are two services you can choose to subscribe to once you have your watch – either FRIENDS & FAMILY (where you register up to 12 family members or friends) or the PROFESSIONAL service which sends any alert directly to a Swiss 24 hours call centre. There a trained professional will see the location of the SmartWatcher wearer on their portal and be able to view the personal details of the person which were collected during the registration process.
An additional feature is the ability to geolocate the person wearing the SmartWatcher. This is particularly suitable for people suffering from the early stages of dementia or other issues which mean they may have a tendency to wander off. It allows the person wearing the watch to be located at any time and to be called.
