Tierpark Goldau was opened in 1925 and is one of six scientifically managed zoos in Switzerland. It is really more like a wild animal park and occupies a beautiful expanse of land and you even get a view of Mount Rigi from the park. Located between Zug and Schwyz it’s easy to get to from Zurich and is definitely worth a trip out for all the family.

There are owls, geese, deer, foxes, amphibians, reptiles, lynx and even bears. If you go on a good day you can be amply rewarded by what you see – but each time you visit it’s a new experience and you see something different. You can also buy special animal feed at vending machines in the park to give to certain animals.
