SWISS DANCE FESTIVAL: TanzFestival Steps is taking place all over Switzerland (and of course in Zurich) from now until 5th May. In Zurich most performances take place at Gessnerallee or Theater 11. Find out more and see the full programme here.

Flashdance at Kosmos Zurich

COCKTAILS & DREAMS 27th APRIL AT KOSMOS: Fancy some ‘80s fun? The classic movie Flashdance is being screened at Kosmos in Lagerstrasse 104, 8004 Zurich, on 27thApril at 9.30pm. After the film there is a Cocktails & Dreams party with lots of dancing and fun. Tickets: CHF 19. Find out more here.

FASHION REVOLUTION DAY 28th APRIL KRAFTWERK ZURICH: if you care about where your clothes come and how they are manufactured, the Fashion Revolution Day Event at Kraftwerk Zurich is bound to be of interest. There is a Fair Fashion Market with over 25 stalls, all selling goods made in a sustainable, ethical way. Entry is free and it’s on from 11am till 11pm at Selnaustrasse 25, 8001 Zurich. See here.

The Open Wine Cellar Days in German-speaking Switzerland

OPEN CELLAR DAYS IN AND AROUND ZURICH 1st, 5th & 6th MAY: why not visit one of the local vineyards and taste the wine in situ, just a few metres from where the grapes are grown? On 1st May and 5th & 6th May, many of the vineyards in the German speaking areas of Switzerland are opening their doors for wine tastings. You can even have snacks and meals at many of them too. MONTREUX MODA 4th – 6th MAY: if you’re visiting Montreux make sure you don’t miss the Montreux Moda event from 4th – 6th May. RIDE IN ONE OF ZURICH’S “OLDTIMER” TRAMS: on 6th, 13th and 20th May the traditional old fashioned Number 6 trams will be travelling through Zurich on special outings – so why not go for a ride. Caves Ouvertes Suisse Romande

CAVES OUVERTES IN FRENCH SPEAKING WINE AREAS: just as the vineyards are opening their doors for tastings early in May, the vineyards in the French speaking regions of Switzerland do the same – but for a longer period of time throughout the whole of May. Find out some tips on where to go here.

KITCHEN CLUB EVENTS AT ART DECO HOTEL MONTANA TILL END JUNE:  the Art Deco Hotel Montana in Lucern is now hosting weekly “Kitchen Club” 8 course dinners of “Experimental Cuisine” by resident chef Johan Breedijk and acclaimed guest chef Rafa Martinez from Spain. The Kitchen Club takes place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from now until the end of June.  Find out all about it here.

NEW MENU AT THE MARRIOTT ZURICH “Der Dreier”: The Restaurant eCHo at the Marriott Hotel Zurich has just introduced a new Spring Menu. Known as “Der Dreier” it offers great value for money and includes 3 courses, a welcome drink, coffee and all for CHF 59 and is available now. Oh, and subject to availability, free parking too! MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL SWISS NATONAL MUSEUM FROM NOW TILL 21st MAY: there is a new exhibition at the Swiss National Museum from 19th January. Offering a real glimpse behind the scenes with lots of memorabilia, costumes, guitars, vintage posters as well as a selection of film clips which you watch in comfy theatre style seats, this really is a fascinating exhibition.
