Experience the Beauty of Zurich On A Lake Cruise

The Zürichsee-Schifffahrtsgesellschaft (ZSG) offers a variety of cruises along Lake Zurich. We tried out the “Build Your Burger” Cruise a while ago and loved it.

Enjoy a Sunset Cruise on Lake Zurich

Another favourite is the Sunset Cruise. Every year there are new options for cruises and one we tried out a while back was the Sunset Cruise with a Massage! Sadly this one is not on the timetable right now – but who knows, maybe it will be back again!

However the Sunset Cruise (which operates daily from the beginning of May every year to the end of September), is a great way to see the lake and to experience sunset from the water.

The Sunset Cruise Departs From & Returns To Bürkliplatz

The Sunset Cruise leaves Bürkliplatz at 17.30 on the dot (doors open at 17.20) and travels up the lake to Rapperswil, before turning round as the sun starts descending. On the journey back to Zurich you get to enjoy the full beauty of the setting sun, and you return to Bürkliplatz just after 10pm.

Restaurant Options

There’s plenty of time to check out the restaurant and bar and you can order anything from a three course meal to a light snack or salad.

All Types Of Boats – Even Paddle Steamers on Lake Zurich

You can take trips on modern motor ships or even on a nostalgic paddle steamer – so sail away on the lake and enjoy! In the Summer the round trips range from 90 minutes to seven hours, and of course during the warmer months there is a wider variety of cruises on offer.

Being on the water gives you a different perspective of the city and really is a relaxing way of travelling. So for a fun evening with friends or family, why not book a trip on water and let the boat whisk you across the lake in style?

Cost: Varies according to cruise. Sunset cruise CHF 42.80 1st class, CHF 26 2nd Class, reductions for children and Halbtax card holders CGF 21.40  1st Class and CHF 13 2nd Class (prices correct at time of writing)
