St Luc – Chandolin Val d’Anniviers
The charming ski resort of St Luc – Chandolin is located in the Val d’Anniviers region of Switzerland.
We discovered it whilst we were staying at the Chandolin Boutique Hotel and enjoyed a fabulous couple of days exploring the natural beauty of this area.
Boasting fabulous views and stunning scenery, St Luc – Chandolin is the biggest ski resort in the Val d’Anniviers area.
60 Km of Beautiful Pistes
It has something to offer for everyone from the beginner through to the advanced skier.
Its 60 km of well prepared pistes consist of 30 km of blue (easy) pistes, 20km of medium (red) pistes and 10 km of difficult (black pistes).
Stunning Scenery
The scenery is stunning and when we were there in late January the runs were not busy at all so we enjoyed amazing skiing without any danger of bumping into crowds or queuing for lifts.
In fact we didn’t have to queue for a single lift whilst we were there. At times, it felt as if we had been helicoptered onto a remote far flung mountain and it was liberating to enjoy the wonderful views without hardly seeing a soul.
Lift System
The resort has 3 chair lifts, 11 drag lifts and one funicular. For those of you not so keen on drags, (like myself), the drags do take a bit of getting used to – but despite this I still had a fabulous time and by the end of the two days I was definitely getting the hang of them.
Restaurants
There are for mountain restaurants to choose from – Restaurant de Tigousa, Cabane Bella-Tola, Restaurant Le Tsapé and Cabane Tsigère La Cohà. Our favuorite, where we had the most unbelievably good Boeuf Bouginon was the Restaurant de Tigousa.
For Non Skiers
If you don’t ski you can still have a lot of fun on the mountain in Chandolin. There are plenty of marked walking paths as well some great toboggan runs.
