The Luxemburgerli – Zurich’s Very Special Macaroon
Everybody in Zurich knows Confiserie Sprüngli and their legendary macaroons. Known as Luxemburgerli they’re as light as air and come in a whole host of flavours and beautiful colours. They are seasonally inspired and in Summer for example, you will tend to get lots of citrus and fruit flavours whereas in Winter you will find more of the Christmassey flavours with cinnamon etc.
They were inspired by a Luxemburg patissier and created by Richard Sprügli for Confiserie Sprüngli over 60 years ago. Light as a feather they are sweet, light and filled with a delicious cream mousse. Only pure, natural ingredients are used and there are no artificial colours or preservatives.
Watch out for the limited edition “Création of the Month”, and to enjoy them at their best they should be eaten within 24 hours.
Flavours range from Bourbon Vanilla, Chocolate, Coffee, Champagne Gold, Champagne Deluxe to Raspberry, Lemon and Caramel Fleur de Sel. But which ones are the most popular?
