Giardina 2019 Garden Exhibition Zurich Live Your Garden
13th – 17th March at the Zürich Messe
The Giardina 2019 Garden and Outdoor Living exhibition is no doubt one of the most enchanting events you can visit in Zurich right now. From the everyday to the exotic, there are a variety of gardens set up in all their glory in the vast space of the halls of Zurich’s Messe in Oerlikon.
Huge rhododendron bushes, exotic trees and beautiful ponds are transplanted along with fabulous functional furniture, swaying rope swings and reclining seating, creating a natural, green world full of inspiration.
Three Main Themes
Taking place from 13th – 17th March, Giardina attracts visitors from all over Europe. The three guiding themes this year are: Technology in the Garden, Balcony Gardens & Terraces, and Favourite Spots. Of course, like any other grand garden show, there are so many highlights which you will delight in discovering for yourself.
One specific highlight on the 1st Floor is called “My Nature Garden”. Designer Peter Richard has planned gardens for Giardina no less than nineteen times and for this, his twentieth time, he is making his personal dream garden, in keeping with the theme of “favourite outdoor spots”.
It is filled with different types of delicate flowers, blooming trees, and incorporates a relaxing sitting area with a small wooden bridge. So many lovely things all working together to make this garden very pleasant and relaxing to walk through.
The Japanese Garden
Another highlight was a sublime Japanese style garden presented by Rheinold Borsch on the 2nd floor. The Garden is an astonishing 400m2 with a breathtaking pond that is 150m2 and home to some very precious koi carp.
300 Exhibitors From 6 European Countries
In fact there are around 300 exhibitors at Giardina this year from six European countries covering a total space of 30,000 sq metres. Offering inspiration for all aspects of outdoor living with products, tools, garden accessories, furniture, plants and technical gadgets, there is something here for everyone. To get the most of your visit we recommend planning an entire day as there is so much to see and discover.
