Some Highlights of Baselworld 2019
Baselworld, one of the world’s foremost watch and jewellery fairs takes place at the Messe in Basel every year. Full of glamour, colour, beautiful and luxurious objects, with lots of new launches and announcements, it really is the place to find out what is going on in the watch industry.
We visited the fair to view some highlights. Come and take a look…
MONDAINE
First off, before entering the Messe itself we visited the Mondaine and Luminox stands. Here we saw the latest Mondaine collection including the innovative watches using Mondaine Back Light technology which allows you to see the black hands of the watch even in the dark.
We also saw the special edition for the 75 years anniversary of the Official Swiss Railways Clock and some watches with straps made using a variety of recycled materials.
LUMINOX
Named after one of the most extreme deserts on the planet, the Luminox Atacama collection is rugged and hardy and designed for use in the desert.
HUBLOT
We met artist Marc Ferrero and his fabulous colourful watches for Hublot. He was also to be seen in action demonstrating his artistic skills and is seen here alongside Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe.
TAG HEUER
There were so many models to admire at TAG Heuer. We particularly liked the blue Aquaracer above.
Though maybe this diamond Carrera is even more dazzling ?
RAKETA
We popped by the Russian watch maker Raketa to take a look at their collection which featured some striking time pieces including the amazing “reverse stroke” watch below, where all the numerals are in reverse order.
PATEK PHILIPPE
It’s aways an experience seeing what Patek Philippe has in store. The enamel miniatures really caught our eye but so did so many other models too.
