The Rhine Falls Turns Green For St Patrick's Day

If you were lucky enough to visit the Rhine Falls in Switzerland any evening from Friday till Sunday between 7pm and 11pm this St Patrick’s weekend, you would have been rewarded by a spectacular vision! The Rhine Falls were illuminated in green – what a way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day!

The Rhine Falls were among 90 different locations worldwide which were taking place in an event called Global Greening. Other well known locations which also turned green included the London Eye, the Coliseum in Rome, the Cristo Redentor Statue in Rio de Janeiro, One World Trade Center in New York and the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai. This year was in fact the 10th anniversary of the Global Greening campaign.
