Creative Bullet Journaling
with Faber-Castell in Zurich
Do You Bullet Journal?
Are you an organised person? Do you have all your to do lists nicely organised in one note book? Are all your calendars synced, your tasks for the long and short term readily available? If so you may not wish to read any further!
Unfortunately being the sort of person with about ten notebooks on the go and lots of “post it” notes all over the place, I dream of being organised and having everything in one place. So when I was invited to the Faber-Castell Bullet Journaling Workshop in Zurich I jumped at the chance.
When we arrived all the places were neatly set out on a long desk accompanied by lots of the wonderful and colourful Faber-Castell pens, pencils, markers and other writing accessories as well as a Leuchtturm1917 “Bullet Journal” planner.
Holly Loves Planning Led The Course
Our tutor for the evening was the delightful Holly from “HollyLovesPlanning“. Holly (who incidentally speaks German, Swiss German and English) took us through our paces, switching effortlessly between the three languages explaining how Bullet Journaling works. She showed us how to plan the book, creating your own personal diary with a “Future Log” setting out the year.
This was then followed by a “Monthly Log” for the coming month, a Weekly Log and then by the individual days – as well as a couple of spare pages for a “brain dump”. However, due to the nature of Bullet Journaling, it has to be a system to suit you – so all the templates can be personalised, coloured, key coded, or whatever suits you best, depending on you and the nature of your life.
Faber-Castell Colourful & Sustainable Writing Materials
The various coloured pens, pencils and water pens from the Faber-Castell collection allow you to release your inner artist. Even if you’re not talented in the art department, the beautiful colours enable you to create your own key, to personalise it and to make it look exceedingly pretty. Faber-Castell have been producing quality writing materials since 1761 and are committed to producing sustainable and environmentally friendly stationery. The German company was founded 1761 by Kaspar Faber and in 1898 when Ottilie Faber married Alexander Graf zu Castell-Rüdenhausen and the company become Faber-Castell.
Track Your Present & Plan Your Future
The Bullet Journaling or “BuJo” method of planning is designed to help you to track your present and plan your future in a very visual format and is the invention of a certain Ryder Carroll. Although it may seem counterintuitive in this digital age, I do find that there is something very satisfying and calming about writing things down. Will it be my new planning system? I certainly hope so and will definitely give it a try!
A Perfect Christmas Present
So if you’re looking for an interesting Christmas Present either for family or friends (or indeed for yourself) a Bullet Journal from Leuchtturm1917 with a set of Faber-Castell writing materials might be just the ticket for an organised New Year.
