A Look Back At one Of Zurich’s Newest Traditions that is Sadly Not Taking Place for 2020
The Illuminarium at the Landesmuseum in Zurich last took place in 2019 and after just 3 years had quickly established itself as one of the city’s most popular Christmas tradition. Sadly it’s not taking place for 2020 due to Covid – but we hope you will enjoy looking at the photos from 2019.
In 2019 the beautiful courtyard of the Landesmuseum was full of colour, music and vibrancy and in the evenings approaching Christmas, rapidly became one of Zurich’s real hot spots.
Take a look at our photos here and the video at the bottom you can see a short video. As well as drinks and snacks from the stalls in the courtyard there was also a pop up Fondue Restaurant for the duration of the event.
When it takes place, the Illuminarium usually continues beyond Christmas, until 30th December. It is usually open every day except for Christmas Eve, 24th December and Christmas Day, 25th December. Tickets can normally be purchased online for the special light show but don’t forget that entrance to the main area is FREE!
For more information about the event and the light show please see our article here.
