Laura Ansaldi – Italian Soprano in Zurich, Paris and Beyond

Opera lovers in Zurich have long been familiar with Laura Ansaldi, the very talented internationally acclaimed Italian soprano who divides her time between Zurich, Paris, Berlin and Milan. Known not only for her vocal brilliance but also for her deep artistic values, Ansaldi has made Zurich a regular base for her work – and the city, in turn, holds a special place in her heart.
In October 2024, Laura Ansaldi was awarded the Platinum Medal of the Arts-Sciences-Lettres (ASL) in Paris, one of the highest honours in the French arts scene. The award, presented in the elegant Salon Opéra of the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand Hotel, recognised her outstanding contribution to opera and to the arts more broadly.
The celebrations began the night before at the Embassy of Oman in Paris, where a cultural evening co-hosted by the Omani ambassador. Ansaldi performed a programme dedicated to the late Sultan Qaboos of Oman, the people of Oman, and to women as agents of change. Her moving interpretations from La Traviata, Faust, and La Wally highlighted opera’s power to connect and inspire.
At the main awards ceremony the following day, she returned to the stage alongside Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov – also a Platinum Medal recipient – to perform works by Rachmaninoff and Verdi. Their duet was widely praised for its emotional depth and artistic harmony. Reflecting on the honour, Ansaldi described it as “the achievement of a lifetime” and “the most spiritual achievement” of her career.
Beyond her celebrated performances, Laura Ansaldi is deeply committed to using music as a tool for positive change. She supports various charitable causes, particularly those empowering women and mentoring young artists with special needs. Her efforts were recently featured in Muscat Daily, where her performances and message were both warmly received.
Looking ahead, Ansaldi is preparing for a key moment in her career: her debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall in June 2025. A major milestone for any singer, this appearance further cements her status as one of today’s leading operatic voices.
Whether in Zurich, Paris or beyond, Laura Ansaldi continues to enchant audiences while using her voice to advocate for something greater than music alone – understanding, connection, and lasting impact.
