UEFA Women’s Euro 2025: In Switzerland This Summer

Switzerland is hosting one of the biggest events in international sport this summer: the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025. Taking place from 2nd to 27th July, this multi-city tournament promises an exciting month of top-level football, community celebration and national pride. There will also be fan zones with lots of activities and a festive atmosphere across the whole country. SUNDAY 27th JULY – FINALS IN BASEL – England versus Spain

The finals are taking place in Basel’s St. Jakob-Parkon 27th July with England versus Spain. If you haven’t managed to get a ticket, why not visit one of the public viewing areas in Zurich ?

There are plenty of public viewing places to watch the game in Zurich including the Fanzone in Europaallee, Frau Gerolds Garten, Micas Garten, Le Calvados, Bogen F, Zum Frischen Max, FIFA Museum, Amboss Rampe, Roter Deflin and Zentralwäscherei amongst others.

The championship will be played across 8 stadiums in Switzerland, with matches scheduled in:

An estimated 700,000 spectators have been expected to attend throughout the competition, and cities all around the country have been welcoming fans from across Europe and beyond. The action kicked off 2nd July in Thun, the semi-finals were held in Geneva and Zurich, and the grand final will be taking place at Basel’s St. Jakob-Park on 27th July. In total, 31 matches will have been played over the course of 26 days.

Switzerland, the host nation, has only qualified for the Women’s Euros twice before,and unfortunately did not progress to the finals.

The Women’s World Cup winners Spain, will be battling it out against reigning European champions England and the competition is bound to be fierce. It should be an exciting match.

Free Public Transport for Match Ticketholders

In a move to promote sustainable travel and make things easier for fans, Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) have added 400 extra trains throughout the tournament. Even better, all match ticket holders can use public transport free of charge on game days, making it a great opportunity to explore Switzerland while following the football.

This initiative includes trains, buses and local trams, and applies to both domestic and cross-city travel. It’s ideal for visitors planning to travel between different cities to attend matches or soak up the festival vibe in various locations.

Where to Watch If You Don’t Have a Ticket

If you don’t have tickets for the finals there are plenty of ways to enjoy the tournament atmosphere. There are fan zones not just in Zurich but across the country, offering large screens, food stalls, drinks, and family-friendly entertainment like concerts and games.
