Zurich Wine Festival 2025
Zurich Wine Festival is back for 2025 and is taking place once again at the Papiersaal Sihlcity in Zurich from 13th – 19th October. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about wine and wine making, to discover new favourites and to meet fellow wine lovers. Founded in in 2020 by Mariyam Seguias and Luiis Franceschi, the Zurich Wine Festival was the next step for them having previously founded the Zurich Wine Club, in 20216. Today the club is Zurich’s largest wine club and has over 2,000 members.
This year’s festival is more than just about tasting—it’s an opportunity to experience the culture of winemaking and embracing the spirit of “One City, One Week, Countless Experiences.” Throughout the week, guests can join masterclasses led by sommeliers, enjoy exclusive food and wine pairings, and hear from wineries sharing their stories and expertise.
Taste Over 450 Wines at the Zurich Wine Festival
At the Zurich Wine Festival you will be able to taste over 450 wines from all over the world and to gain useful information from industry experts. There are a number of unique and memorable wine experiences with small Masterclasses in a relaxed environment with limited spaces per slot so that you truly get to know and understand the wines you are tasting.
The History of the Zurich Wine Festival
Luiis is WSET certified and a member of the Swiss Sommelier Association, whilst Mariyam is a Marketing and Event Specialist and together they have organized more than 100 wine events with their club. The Zurich Wine Festival is their biggest event.
The world in one glass
From 17th to 19th October 2025, Papiersaal at Sihlcity hosts a three-day tasting fair featuring wines from 40+ Swiss and international importers and wineries. It’s a relaxed setting to compare styles, meet producers and discover new favourites.
A new chapter: Italian Aperitivo Day
On Thursday, 16th October, the festival opens with an evening dedicated to Italy’s aperitivo culture. Think wine and cocktails paired with classic Italian bites – an easy, social way to ease into the weekend and embrace a little dolce vita.
Business Sunday
Sunday, 19th October is tailored to the trade. The day starts with an industry lunch, followed by B2B masterclasses. Before doors open to the public, professionals have exclusive time to visit stands, taste broadly and build contacts.
Zurich Wine Club Awards
Later on Sunday, the Zurich Wine Club Awards recognise outstanding wine lists across Zurich’s restaurants, hotels and bars—celebrating the venues shaping the city’s wine culture.
Sustainability in practice
The festival aims to keep its footprint light: a paper-free, digital experience, a glass-saving approach to reduce water use, and cork recycling on site. With its central location, visitors are encouraged to arrive on foot or by public transport. Even corks collected during the festival will be recycled. With measures to offset part of the event’s carbon footprint and a central location accessible by foot or public transport, the festival is committed to being as sustainable as possible.
The Wine Festival – A Social Setting to Taste Great Wines
The Zurich Wine Festival is a great social event and a wonderful place to go along to with colleagues or friends.
