The Zurich Marathon 2026 will take place on Sunday, 12th April 2026, bringing thousands of runners into the city for one of Switzerland’s most scenic and popular races. Whether you’re running, supporting or simply enjoying the atmosphere, it’s one of the biggest sporting events in Zurich.

🏃 What Is the Zurich Marathon?

The Zurich Marathon is a major annual running event featuring three distances:

• Marathon
• Half marathon
• 10K City Run

The race is known for its flat and fast course, with around 70% of participants achieving personal best times.

📍 The Route: Lake Zurich & City Highlights

The course is one of the most scenic in Switzerland.

Runners will pass:

• Long stretches along Lake Zurich
• A turnaround point near Meilen
• Final kilometres through Zurich city centre

The race starts at Quaibrücke and finishes at Sechseläutenplatz.

• Start: 08:00 (Quaibrücke)
• Scenic route along the lake and through the city

Half Marathon (21.1 km)

• Start: 13:15
• Lake and city route finishing at Sechseläutenplatz

10K City Run

• Start: 16:00
• Route through central Zurich
