What’s On in Zurich Beginning of August 2026
Wishing you a great weekend and week ahead! The main things on the agenda are the celebrations for Swiss National Day, although sadly the Fire on The Rocks in Neuhausen has been cancelled due to the dry weather conditions. Please note most shops are closed to 1st August – but see where you can shop here. There is also the Tavolata des Vins du Valais event which runs from 1st – 31st August. The FREE RundfunkFM festival is on daily and The Palm 3 is taking place at the Kongresshaus. There are also still plenty of open air Music Festivals and Open Air Cinemas. Don’t forget it will soon be Street Parade and not long after that the Limmat Swim and before long the Theater Spektakel.
Over in Gstaad the Menuhin Festival is taking place with lots of great musical concerts. CANCELLED !!!! FIRE ON THE ROCKS 31st JULY RHINEFALLS:! Please note this event has been cancelled for 2026. This spectacular event usually takes place just once a year on 31st July when the Rhine Falls are illuminated with fireworks but due to the current situation with the dry weather it has been cancelled for 2026. HUNDSTAGE IN DER MÜHLE UNTIL 31st JULY: Looking for a relaxed summer evening in Zurich? Head to the beautiful courtyard at Mühle Tiefenbrunnen for Hundstage – a free series of Thursday author readings and Friday live concerts.
