One of Zurich-West’s liveliest neighbourhood festivals is back! Viaduktfäscht Zurich 2026 takes place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th September, transforming the famous railway arches at Im Viadukt into a colourful festival mile filled with live music, DJs, street food, drinks and entertainment.
Previously known to many NewInZurich readers as Viadukt Night, the event is now celebrated as Viaduktfäscht and has expanded into a two-day festival. Best of all, entry is completely FREE.
When is Viaduktfäscht Zurich 2026?
The festival takes place over two days:
Friday 4th September 2026: 6pm–11pm
Saturday 5th September 2026: 2pm–11pm
The festivities stretch along the Viadukt arches and around the Markthalle in Zurich’s lively Kreis 5 neighbourhood.
Live Music and DJs at Viaduktfäscht
Music is a major part of the festival, with several stages and performance areas spread around Im Viadukt.
On Friday, the programme includes DJ La Salomao, Zurich’s Hardchor, DJ Lamara & MWP, Kanita D., Bully and K-RIM b2b Oscar Martin.
On Saturday, you can look forward to acts including WAY2COZY, Gucci Panettone, DJ Ms Hyde, MK & Croma, K-RIM and Patric Pleasure. Swedish indie band Friska Viljor also performs a free concert at Bogen F on Saturday evening.
And if 11pm feels a little early to go home, there are afterparties at Im Studio from 11pm on both evenings. Friday features Acid Pauli, Juli Lee & Kayyak, while Saturday continues with Âme, Alex Dallas & Aline.
Street Food and Drinks Along the Viadukt
Come hungry, because food is a big part of Viaduktfäscht. Restaurants and shops from Im Viadukt take their specialities out onto the street, with a huge variety of international and Swiss food on offer. Expect everything from pizza, raclette and Flammkuchen to BBQ, hot dogs, fresh pasta and Bao Buns. There will also be Onigiri, Taiyaki, Japanese snacks, pies, gyoza, Cevapcici, ice cream, Berliner and even a chocolate fountain. To accompany the food, there will be plenty of beer, cocktails, Champagne, Frosé and different varieties of Spritz. On Saturday, Swiss chef Meta Hiltebrand is also scheduled to cook risotto live at the festival.
A Family-Friendly Festival in Zurich
Viaduktfäscht isn’t just an evening party – Saturday in particular is a great option for families. Entertainment includes a free children’s carousel, games and activities, hair braiding and a karaoke wagon. There is also a photo bus where visitors can take home free souvenir photos.
The shops, restaurants and businesses beneath the Viadukt arches also organise their own special activities and offers during the festival.
What is Im Viadukt?

Even outside the festival, Im Viadukt is one of Zurich-West’s most interesting places to visit. The railway viaduct itself dates from 1894, and today the historic arches have been transformed into an urban shopping, food and cultural destination extending for around 500 metres through Kreis 5.
Around 36 arches are home to an eclectic mixture of independent boutiques, delicatessens, restaurants, cafés, galleries and cultural venues, while the Markthalle forms the culinary heart of the development. During Viaduktfäscht, this whole neighbourhood becomes one long open-air party.
Why Visit Viaduktfäscht?
Viaduktfäscht is a great opportunity to experience a particularly local side of Zurich. You can arrive for an afternoon with the family, meet friends for an Apéro, try food from around the world, browse the shops, listen to live music or stay into the evening for DJs and dancing. The combination of the historic railway arches, independent businesses and the relaxed atmosphere of Zurich-West gives the festival a very different feel from some of Zurich’s larger city events.
And with FREEadmission, it is an easy event to simply drop into and see where the evening takes you.
