From 17th to 27th September 2026, Zurich hosts the fifth edition of Zurich Design Weeks, Switzerland’s largest design festival. Under this year’s theme “OUT OF…”, designers, brands, institutions and creative spaces across the city invite visitors to step beyond the familiar and discover new ideas for the future through exhibitions, installations, talks, workshops, design tours and events. With activities at more than 40 locations across Zurich and much of the programme free to visit, it’s a great opportunity to discover the city’s creative side.
Zurich Design Weeks 2026 Theme: OUT OF…
The theme for Zurich Design Weeks 2026 is “OUT OF…”, encouraging designers and visitors to move beyond familiar ideas and explore fresh perspectives and innovative approaches for the future. Throughout the festival, design is considered in the wider context of society, business and the environment, with opportunities not only to view exhibitions but also to join discussions, workshops and interactive events.
Highlights of Zurich Design Weeks 2026
Highlights include the international interior design exhibition neue räume at Halle 550 in Zurich-Oerlikon, the popular Poster Safari at locations around the city and a variety of design tours where visitors can meet both emerging and established designers. The Swiss Design Lounge at the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, Ausstellungsstrasse, once again serves as the headquarters and central meeting point for Zurich Design Weeks, with exhibitions and events taking place throughout the festival.
Across Zurich, participating designers, showrooms, brands and institutions open their doors, making it possible to discover everything from product and interior design to graphic design, installations and new approaches to sustainable and inclusive design.
