ZVV ActionPass 2026: Zurich Travel Pass for Over 60s

ZVV ActionPass 2026: Zurich Travel Pass for Over 60s
One Month of Unlimited ZVV Travel Plus Free Attractions and Discounts
If you’re 60 or over – or know somebody who is – the ZVV ActionPass 2026 is definitely worth knowing about. The special travel and leisure pass is back for August to October 2026 and offers particularly good value for anyone keen to explore Zurich and the surrounding region by public transport.
For CHF 110, you get a month of travel throughout the entire ZVV network, together with an impressive selection of free admissions, excursions and discounts. For 2026, the ZVV ActionPass is available to everyone born in 1966 or earlier and can be used for one month between 1st August and 31st October 2026.
What Is Included in the ZVV ActionPass 2026?
The ActionPass gives you unlimited 2nd Class travel throughout the entire ZVV network – all zones.
You can travel by:
- Train
- Tram
- Bus
- Boat
- Cable car
During the week, the pass is valid Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. onwards, while on Saturdays and Sundays it is valid all day. That makes it a particularly attractive option for day trips around the canton of Zurich, lake excursions, museum visits and autumn walks.
Extra ZVV Tickets Included
As well as your regular ActionPass travel, you receive several useful extra tickets:
- 2 journeys before 9 a.m. – allowing you to start early on two days
- 1 companion day ticket – so one person can travel with you free for a whole day
- 1 First Class upgrade – allowing you to travel in 1st Class for one day
The special tickets can even be combined with one another. They must be validated before travelling and are only valid together with your ZVV ActionPass.
NEW for 2026: The ZVV ActionPass Is on Your SwissPass
There is an important change for 2026. You now need a SwissPass for the ZVV ActionPass. Your public-transport ticket is loaded directly onto your SwissPass, while the leisure offers, discounts and vouchers remain in the accompanying printed ActionPass booklet.
When using one of the leisure offers, you may need to show:
- Your SwissPass
- Your ActionPass booklet
- Your proof of purchase
If you don’t yet have a SwissPass, you can obtain one free of charge at a staffed ZVV or SBB counter.
55 Free Entries and Special Offers
One of the best features of the 2026 ZVV ActionPass is that it isn’t simply a public-transport pass.
There are 55 free admissions, discounts and special leisure offers included, making it a great incentive to discover somewhere new in and around Zurich.

Free Entry to Zurich Zoo
One particularly valuable benefit is one free admission to Zoo Zurich.
Considering that a visit to the zoo can easily make up a significant proportion of the price of the ActionPass, this is a great opportunity to combine the free admission with your included ZVV journey there and back.

Free Museum Visits
There is an extensive selection of museums and cultural attractions included in the ActionPass.
Examples include free admission to:
- Kunsthaus Zürich – one admission
- Landesmuseum Zürich
- Museum Rietberg
- Kulturama
- Fraumünster including the Chagall windows and crypt museum
- Museum für Gestaltung
- Pavillon Le Corbusier
- Tram Museum
- Uhrenmuseum Beyer
- Urania Sternwarte – free guided tour
- Museum Mühlerama
- Museum Winterthur
- Ritterhaus Bubikon
- Sauriermuseum Aathal – one admission
- Johanna Spyri Museum
- Pegasus Small World
- NONAM – North American Native Museum
- And many more
The 2026 ActionPass includes free admission to both major Zurich institutions and some of the region’s smaller museums – so it’s a good excuse to discover places you might not otherwise visit.
Boats, Excursions and Outdoor Activities
There are also plenty of opportunities to get out and explore.
Highlights include:
- Free round trip on Lake Greifensee
- Free round trip on Lake Zurich
- Free admission to the Uetliberg observation tower
- 50% discount on Rhine boat cruises
- 30% discount on admission to Bruno Weber Park
- 50% discount at Swiss Science Center Technorama during September and October
- 30% discount on ExplorIA Trails Zurich
- 33% discount on Urban Golf Winterthur equipment
The free travel included with the ActionPass makes these offers particularly useful because you can travel to the attraction without having to buy an additional ZVV ticket. The ZVV specifically highlights free Greifensee cruises and a 50% reduction on Rhine cruises among the 2026 offers.

Food and Restaurant Offers
There are even some food and drink benefits included.
These include selected discounts or offers at:
- Migros Restaurants
- Steiner Beck
- Restaurant Tössegg
- Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall
- Restaurant Eschenberg
- Restaurant Lägern Hochwacht
- Restaurant Courtside Belvoir
At participating Migros Restaurants, for example, ActionPass holders can get one hot drink plus one pastry for CHF 4.90. ZVV has also incorporated suggested walks and hikes into this year’s programme, with discounted refreshment stops along some of the routes.
Where Can You Buy the ZVV ActionPass?
The 2026 ActionPass went on sale on 13th July 2026.
You can buy it at staffed ZVV and SBB railway stations and ZVV sales points. You can also purchase it through the ZVV online Ticketshop until 1st October 2026. For an online purchase you must already have a SwissPass. Your travel pass is then loaded onto your SwissPass and the printed ActionPass booklet is sent to you by post, normally within two to three working days.
One point to remember: the emailed purchase confirmation itself is not a valid public-transport ticket.

Is the ZVV ActionPass Worth It?
If you plan to make several journeys around Zurich during the month, the ZVV ActionPass can represent excellent value.
The combination of unlimited travel throughout the entire ZVV network, free entry to attractions such as Zoo Zurich and numerous museums, boat excursions and additional discounts means that you could potentially recover the CHF 110 cost surprisingly quickly.
It is also a lovely way to make the most of late summer and early autumn in the Zurich region – whether you fancy a boat trip, a museum day, an excursion into the countryside or simply the freedom to hop on a train, tram or bus and see where the day takes you.
