ibis Styles Copenhagen Ørestad – #OpenpARTy
The other week I was in Copenhagen for the #OpenpARTy of the ibis Styles Copenhagen Ørestad. Although the new hotel opened in the Spring, they saved their opening party or #OpenpARTy as they called it, for early Autumn. This party was all about celebrating, art, culture and colour with the hotel’s own “house” artist, Danish street artist, Isaac Malakkai.
The artist was present throughout the evening and was painting live during the party which added to the fun of this great event.

During the event we also met other artists and trendsetters in Copenhagen including Danish DJ and producer Kasper Bjørke and DJ Prom Nights. It was a really fun night – and just like the hotel itself, buzzing with colour, creativity and fun!
The Hotel – Easy To Get To From the City and the Airport
Located in the vibrant district of Amager, close to Copenhagen city centre, this stylish modern ibis Styles hotel is a great choice for a stay in Copenhagen. Ørestad offers easy access to the international airport. It took us under 10 minutes to get there from the airport by cab and there is a tram station just 2 minutes from the hotel which takes around 25 minutes. The Field’s shopping centre is close by and it is easy to get into the city in just 15 minutes with the tram. There you can find plenty of entertainment with the Tivoli amusement park, Brygge harbour, lots of art and design museums and Denmark’s largest shopping centre. In fact the ibis Styles hotel offers all its guest a FREE self guided QR code app so that you can tour the city on foot or by bike. In my experience, another great way of seeing the city is to take a boat trip – but I will share more sightseeing tips in another blogpost about Copenhagen to follow shortly.
It’s a wonderful city to explore and you can see some impressions and ideas for things to do here:
The Hotel Design Ibis Styles Ørestad Copenhagen
The hotel’s contemporary design uses lots of natural materials and stylish urban elements which have been inspired by its surroundings. In the vicinity you can find plenty of attractions, eateries and nightlife.
The rooms are thoughtfully designed to maximum space – so although not huge, you have space and a place for everything and of course lots of plugs and charging points for your technology – which in my opinion is always important! Moreover, the beds were super comfortable.
Downstairs there is a co-working space where you can enjoy a drink or a snack and there is tea and coffee available throughout.
Ibis Styles Ørestad Copenhagen – First #Openparty
The event I attended was the first of a series of #OpenpARTy events by French hospitality group Accor and there will be more taking place over the next few months. These live event focus on the creativity of the ibis Styles brand and involving their guests in the brand’s unique lifestyle experience. The idea is part of the brand’s global #OpenToCreativity program, in which the hotel collaborates with local artists and design communities. The idea behind it all is to give each ibis Styles hotel a unique vibe, to inspire the guests and to support local artists.
With more than 650 hotels, you can be sure that there are plenty more ibis Styles events to come. In each case, original and unique works of art are created in collaboration with a local artist or using the AI tool MidJourney. Each hotel expresses its unique work of art in multiple ways, for example, in the form of room keys, art installations in the public areas and merchandising items in the hotel shops. The artworks are also minted as crypto tokens for guests’ digital wallets as welcome gifts and are displayed in the hotels as well as being archived in the Metaverse ibis Styles Spatial Gallery.
Why Copenhagen for the first #OpenpARTy?
ibis Styles Copenhagen was chosen as the location for the first #OpenpARTy as the city is renowned worldwide for its art scene and has a particular cultural focus on avant-garde design. In fact, UNESCO named Copenhagen the World Capital of Architecture for 2023! In fact everywhere you go, whether it be shops, restaurants or office blocks, you can find amazing examples of beautiful design.
ibis Styles Copenhagen – A perfect Location for a Trip to Copenhagen
So if you haven’t visited Copenhagen yet, I highly recommend you do. And if you’re looking for a cool, well positioned hotel with all the amenities you need and a wonderful, arty atmosphere, I can highly recommend the ibis Styles Copenhagen. And one thing I always find very important is the welcome and friendliness of the staff. General Manager Louise Adolph and her team were both both and went above and beyond in helping me with my flight back – so a big thank you! In fact, I enjoyed my trip so much I can’t wait to return.
