New Hotel Opening in Andermatt – The Radisson Blu Reussen
The ski resort of Andermatt in Graubünden has just welcomed a new luxury four-star superior hotel. The official opening ceremony of the brand new Radisson Blu Reussen took place on 11th December 2018 and the hotel officially opens its hotel doors for guests on 20th December 2018.
Samih Sawiris & Johan Beerlandt Open The Hotel
We were lucky enough to be amongst the many invited guests to see the hotel officially open as the red ribbon was cut by Samih Sawiris and Johan Beerlandt (pictured above). Samih Sawiris is the investor and initiator of the Holiday Village Andermatt Reuss and Chairman of the Board of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG, and Johan Beerlandt is his co-investor.
After the welcome speeches there was music and an evening of festivity and celebration.
Radisson Blu Reussen – 179 Rooms & 65 Apartments
The Radisson Blu Reussen boasts 179 spacious rooms and 65 apartments. The hotel is modern and elegant with lots of stone, wood and glass. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the “Spun” Restaurant which offers fresh, regional and Italian-inspired creations and after the festivities we relaxed in the bar area of the open plan lobby lounge with its beautiful central fireplace.
The hotel bedrooms and suites are spacious, modern and elegant and the “Gotthard Residences” are the apartments, which are available in 1, 2 or 3 bedroom configurations. Furnished in a Scandinavian style with lots of natural fabrics they also have free Wi-Fi, LED TVs and 24-hour room service. In addition, the hotel is the first alpine hotel to have its own concert hall attached, which will be opening in Spring 2019. It’s also perfectly geared up for business conferences, large events and weddings.
Andermatt – Largest Ski Resort in Central Switzerland
At 1,444 meters above sea level, the mountain village of Andermatt is a paradise for snow sports enthusiasts, and the Andermatt-Sedrun ski area is the largest ski resort in Central Switzerland. It offers over 120 kilometers of pistes and 22 lifts and extends to the almost 3,000-meter-high Gemsstock, as well as the Schneehüenerstock and the Oberalppass to Sedrun. From 22nd December 2018 the connection from Andermatt to Sedrun will be open.
Summer – Hiking, Biking, Climbing and Golf
During the Summer months Andermatt is the perfect location to enjoy hiking, mountain biking, climbing or playing golf on the 18 hole par-72 championship golf course.

The hotel’s health and wellness area offers a 25-metre pool with mountain views (and a separate children’s play pool – see below), a sauna and steam, a well equipped gym as well as wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. A range of massages and beauty treatments can also be booked.
