Kunsthaus Zurich

The main art house in Zurich, the Kunsthaus, has been going since 1910. Originally aimed at showcasing art from the Zuricher Kunstgelsellshaft it is now well known for housing one of the most important art collections in the whole of Switzerland, if not Europe.  During the year, the gallery also hosts several exhibitions where several modern talents showcase their work.

In addition there is a library which is for the use of the general public interested in modern art.
There are plans afoot to expand the building and this is due to be completed in 2017.

Take a look at the short video below:

The Kunsthaus Museum is open as follows:

Tue – Fri–Sun 10 am to 6 pm

The Kunsthaus Library is open as follows:

On Wednesdays entry to the Kunsthaus (excluding special collections) is free of charge – which is a fantastic bargain.
