Frau Gerolds Garten’s CucumBar with Hendrick’s
Urban Gardening with Hendrick’s Gin Cocktails
After the long, grey and depressing Winter, it’s time to welcome and celebrate the arrival of Spring in Zurich. What better way to do this, than by having a go at some urban gardening with a nice drink in your hand? For many city lovers urban gardening seems to be the latest hype, and with gin and tonic currently one of the most popular drinks right now, a cucumber planting event with Hendrick’s at Frau Gerolds was very fitting.
For the next six weeks there will be a small, beautifully decorated bar at Frau Gerolds Garten in Zurich’s Kreis 5, exclusively focussed on serving some of the yummiest gin based drinks in town. The bar is fittingly named the “CucumBar”. To celebrate the opening, Hendrick’s made sure that there were experts on hand to share their expertise in (cucumber) gardening and of course creating great gin cocktails!
Visitors were invited to choose one of four different types of cucumber plants to adopt, to then name it and plant it in the Hendrick’s cucumber patch.
It’s World Cucumber Day on June 14th, so it will be interesting to see how big the cucumbers will have grown by then.
