Some Highlights of Basel World 2018
with TAG Heuer, Hublot, Mondaine, Luminox, Patek Philippe & Swarovski
Basel World was bursting with energy and excitement when we visited last week. Key Swiss watch brands like TAG Heuer, Hublot, Mondaine and Luminox were holding press conferences and showcasing their latest models along with watch companies from all over the world. Here are some of the highlights …
TAG Heuer and Hublot
The TAG Heuer Limited Edition BAMFORD watch
There was a party atmosphere as international footballers and friends of the brand played a friendly football match at the Hublot stand. José Mourinho and Diego Maradona joined Usain Bolt and many other familiar names from the sporting world.
At the TAG Heuer conference Jean-Claude Biver was entertaining the crowds with his wit and humour. Bamford Watches and TAG Heuer presented a new interpretation of TAG Heuer’s most iconic watch, the Monaco.
A very striking model indeed as modelled by both George Bamford and Jean-Claude.
The Mondaine watches looked stylish as always with their simple but stunning clock faces in a variety of different sizes …
The Luminox team had a great story to tell about their latest collaboration with ICE-SAR, the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue. As CEO Bernd Stadlwieser said, “Collaborating with ICE-SAR is a natural evolution and a perfect fit for Luminox – a brand already trusted and requested by so many professionals around the world”. “ICE-SAR rescuers are operating in extreme conditions, and we are proud that they have chosen Luminox as their official partner”.
Luminox watches are perfectly designed for the harsh conditions of sea, air and land missions. ICE-SAR has to be able to operate in limited daylight visibility and this is where the Luminox unique self-powered illumination system really comes into its own. In fact the Luminox watches are an essential part of the emergency equipment used by the ICE-SAR teams to conduct their missions in harsh weather.
