Barbara Lax came up for the idea for Little Green House when looking for a nursery for her daughter. She wanted to find a nursery where her daughter could discover the world through exciting activities and one where she could to play outside every day. She wanted to find a place where children and teachers are interested in a sustainable lifestyle and treat nature with respect. In order to fulfill all these criteria, Barbara Lax finally decided to open her own nursery in Gland. Since then, Little Green House has continued to grow successfully.

On receiving the award Barbara Lax said “Madame Clicquot took over running a business while she was the mother of a six-year-old girl. I’m delighted to receive the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award so I can use the role I play in society to help women and men find a work-life balance”.

The annual Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award takes place in 27 countries and champions the success of business women worldwide. Madame Clicquot demonstrated her enterprising spirit, as well as huge amounts of courage and determination, in order to succeed. It is these very qualities along with entrepreneurial drive, creativity & innovation, audacity and being a role model to make things change, that the judging panel are looking for in the candidates competing to win the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award 2017.
