The World Snow Festival Grindelwald

Every January Grindelwald plays host to the World Snow Festival and over the years this event has become one of the highlights of the Winter season in the village.

The Snow Festival takes place on the natural ice-rink in the centre of Grindelwald and 2020 will be its 38th year. It all started when a large sculpture of Heidi was carved in the snow by Japanese artists and has now become an important international cultural happening. Why not take a trip to see these beautiful and unique pieces of art made out of snow?
