A Delightful Lunch
at Albishaus Near Zurich
The Perfect Lunch With a View
The other Sunday we had a most delightful lunch at the Albishaus just outside Zurich. It’s located in a beautiful rural location on the Albis and has the most stunning views.
We went on a sunny day in early July and the weather was perfect. You take a little country lane off the main road en route to the Türlersee and Zug, which leads you round to the restaurant which has plenty of parking at the back.
With a beautiful outdoor terrace partially shaded by parasols and by trees, it is the perfect place to sit out and relax on a Sunday afternoon. We went for lunch, but they do also do a great dinner menu and they even have a smaller menu serving lighter food and snacks throughout the day.
After a refreshing Aperitif we placed our order and just soaked up the atmosphere and the views.
For starters we had a feta and melon salad which was light fresh and delicious and some amazingly tasty lime ravioli.
This was followed by a beautifully cooked steak served with baked potato and tomato and green bean salad and Veal paillard served with caponata, humus and a garlic dip.
They were both so tasty!
Every course as well as tasting delicious had been beautifully presented too and the service was really friendly, unfussy and welcoming. Eating these wonderful dishes whilst sitting outside with the amazing views was just so relaying. A prefect Sunday treat!
We were too full to enjoy a pudding, so decided to go on a short hike to the Türlersee and have desserts and coffee on our way back.
On our return from the hike we chose a delicious lemon cake with sorbet and a Coupe Danemark ice cream sundae – they were both divine.
