Last week we had a wonderful lunch at Restaurant Falken in Küsnacht. Conveniently located a short walk from Küsnacht railway station the restaurant has a lovely bright dining room, decorated with colourful paintings and a leafy garden terrace at the front of the restaurant and down the side.
Toni Albino with his chef Lars Schwalenberg and their team have a reputation for the best ravioli on the Gold Coast which is freshly prepared every day. In addition they also have a great menu of fresh and flavoursome Mediterranean inspired dishes. At lunchtime there is a three course set menu and you can of course choose à la carte.
We began with a starter of Burrata and tomatoes which was simply but beautifully served and Carmen chose the grilled goats cheese on a mixed salad. Both looked very pretty and were really delicious. The salad with the goats cheese was seasoned with honey and thyme and contained fruits and herbs and was full of flavour.
For the main course I opted for the fish dish which was perfectly cooked and came with a tasty “choucroute” of vegetables in a delicious sauce and was accompanied by a lovely risotto.
Carmen went for the house speciality – ravioli. Theses are the speciality of the house and are highly recommended! They come filled with either lime, veal or pumpkin, and are served with sage butter, garlic chilli or mushroom.
To round it off, what curl be better than the lemon infused cream brûlée?
The service was friendly and helpful and the Falken is an ideal location for a relaxed lunch or dinner. Restaurant Falken is open 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday, so why not pop by and give it a try? If you prefer take away, you will be pleased to know that they now do a take away menu too!
